1st Spring Talent Showcase at Jewish Center of Teaneck

On Thursday, May 14 at 7:30 PM at The Jewish Center of Teaneck (70 Sterling Place just off Cedar Lane, near Teaneck Road) more than fifty performing arts students from all over Bergen County will convene to support one another and share their talents in Black Box Studios' 1st Spring Talent Showcase.

Kids and teens currently enrolled in workshops taught by Matt Okin, Mandy Decker, and Jonathan Kaplan – at the Bergen County High School of Jewish Studies in Hackensack and at Temple Emanuel of Woodcliff Lake, Englewood's The Moriah School, Ben Porat Yosef in Paramus, The Jewish Center of Teaneck, and more – will perform scenes and songs from their current classwork and upcoming shows throughout the evening. Additionally, performers from The All-Kids Rock Musical Workshop will also make a special appearance, previewing original songs from their new show before its June NYC debut. Most participants will appear at least twice throughout the Showcase, which will run until approximately 9:30 PM.

Among those participating are players in The Moriah School Drama Club's upcoming production of Oliver!; musical theater students mounting scenes and songs from Pippin; beginning actresses in a sequence from the play Squirrel Plays Her Part; three comedic improv groups, members of a collaborative songwriting class, and performers in a rock musical theater class from both campuses of the Bergen County High School of Jewish Studies; and acting students previewing sequences from their upcoming production of Agatha Christie's The Mousetrap.

The 1st Spring Talent Showcase is open to families, friends, and fans of the performers – and it is also open the general public. Admission is a $5.00 donation at the door. Entertainment industry professionals are invited to attend as our guests; please call in advance for special seating.
